When it comes to your child’s health, you’re in good hands with a team of dedicated professionals who bring complementary expertise to every visit. At our practice, pediatricians and nurse practitioners work closely together — each contributing distinct strengths that, combined, provide exceptional care for your family.

Education and Training Pediatricians are medical doctors (MDs or DOs) who complete a minimum of 11 years of education and training, including medical school and a pediatric residency, with deep specialization in childhood illness, development, and complex medical conditions.

Nurse practitioners hold graduate-level degrees (MSN or DNP) and bring advanced clinical training to their role. Many also carry years of hands-on nursing experience before and alongside their graduate education — meaning their total clinical preparation is often more extensive than formal degree timelines alone suggest. FNPs and PNPs are skilled, autonomous clinicians who are integral to how we deliver care.

How Our Team Works Together: Rather than a hierarchy, think of our practice as a collaborative model in which each provider’s training and experience can be matched to your child’s needs. In Washington State, nurse practitioners are licensed to practice independently — a recognition of their advanced training, clinical judgment, and scope of practice. Routine well-child visits, immunizations, and management of common illnesses are areas where both pediatricians and NPs excel. For more complex or rare conditions, our pediatricians bring specialty-level depth and coordinate with outside specialists as needed.

This team approach means your child benefits more — it means access to a broader range of expertise, greater scheduling flexibility, and continuity of care across every stage of childhood.

What This Means for Your Family: Every member of our team is here because they are exceptional at what they do. Whether your child sees a pediatrician or a nurse practitioner, you can trust that they are receiving thoughtful, high-quality care — and that our providers are communicating and collaborating on your child’s behalf.
